“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week in 2013.” No lie, this is one of the best pics from our holiday photo shoot. Why is it so hard to get them both to look and smile? |
On the RangeNovember 12 – 18, 2013
{On the Range} is my weekly series where I discuss what we’re doing, reading, and eating. It’s a little bit 52 project and other photo projects, and a little bit {Did you Read?} and {In the Ranger Kitchen}
This is a double duty post to give you our weekly update and check on on Day 7 of the first week of pre-holiday boot camp. How was your week? Be honest, you did only half or less of the things, right? That’s okay. Being that each will only take you 15 minutes, these items can really be combined into a few days, so don’t be discouraged. #LeanIn and soldier on! And if you haven’t started yet, you can do it any time. There’s no rush.

Milestones
- We had a friend visiting this weekend, to whom Charlie kept referring as “Alice Turd.” I’ll let you figure out what his actual name is…
- Did you blink? It’s choir season again! But this time she’s learning holiday songs, so at least I’ll be more informed on lyrics. Although I’ll admit a tiny part of me will miss humming “…and make each prisoner pent, unwillingly represent a source of innocent merriment, of innocent merriment.”
My week…
My week was half-productive, half-lazy as my weeks generally go. Like Becky, there was some dallying of Halloween decor that seemed to take forever to migrate back to the basement. But unlike Becky, I don’t seem to possess many in-between items of general fall festivity, except for the necessary gourds of course.
I had already donated a bag of stuff last week for the school rummage sale, but I still managed to scrounge up more items to give away. There’s ALWAYS more shizz, you know? I replaced a few items with some good finds from the sale and our local thrift shop, like this new-old picnic basket for the hat/glove accoutrements:
Poppin’ tags, y’all. The advice I gave you back in the bootcamp run-down was good enough on its own so I’ll just repeat it straight from that post:
Day 7: Reflect on the week
Go back to the list you made on Day 1. Has anything raised or lowered in priority? Add or remove what is needed. Be mindful of how you feel and offer yourself and others your love, hope, forgiveness, and grace.How’s it going, Lovey?
