on {lack of} productivity

So, about that Simplicity Parenting carnival….

Emily and I made a collectively timely decision for both our families to move our productivity theme to next month. Yup, we see the irony in postponing the productivity carnival too. Ha! Oh well, that’s summer life, no? As a true Shakespeare fan, I will not admit impediments, but suffice it to say, being productive enough to write about productivity is setting the bar a bit high this month. You can see the new carnival schedule here

Instead of a thoughtful post about how I manage to stay productive, I was inspired to snap photos and create a list of things I’m doing right now. Hopefully these pics will keep me in line when I’m getting the urge to hit the Google Reader again. While you’re reading this, I’m currently…

…Flipping through the new IKEA catalog to get ideas for living room decorations; sorting the pile of Vivi’s artwork from the last year of school to decide which ones to keep and frame/pack away; putting together a new BIG big kid bed for Vivi and putting the toddler bed in the basement until Charlie’s ready for it; learning to knit (!); turning my vanity into a sewing corner; gathering ideas for summer meals; becoming a potty training master; and finding ways to use up cucumbers (n.b.: How have I never made pickles before?!). And while I don’t have the pics to prove it, I’m also reading other people’s great simple ideas about how to be productive and re-watching Arrested Development. Oh, and humming the title sequence to “Phineas and Ferb” on repeat.

Hmmm, maybe I’m more productive than I thought. Wow! I thoroughly recommend this fun photo-snapping exercise. It’s sure to make you stand in awe at all that you do.

Have a great day, productive or otherwise!

Your project-loving blogger,
~J
